Financial and Analysis Reports

My Role: Typesetting; desktop publishing.

Notes: This sort of piece is very representative of my early career, which involved lots of financial papers and consulting reports.

I worked long-term for Booz*Allen & Hamilton, Price Waterhouse, Bowne Business Communications, and Chemical Bank. The work done includes financial & annual reports, business analysis reports, newsletters, and a/v presentations.

This experience allowed me to understand the correct use and importance of utilizing style sheets and master pages in large, heavy content documents. Naturally, these reports included lots of graphs as visual aids in representing report data, so I also gained a thorough understanding of them as well.

Additionally, proofreaders cracked the whip if you missed too many clearly marked changes. For that reason, I think of this time in my career as my typesetting boot camp training. Fortunately, I took many of those skills into my later career where I was able to fully appreciate their benefits when I was managing a staff of designers.
